Meet Dr. Emily Cosin

My goal is to offer a supportive, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment where you can be authentic and honest about how you are feeling. It is essential to have a strong client-therapist relationship to facilitate growth and change. Therefore, I will invite you to collaborate with me in your treatment and will actively work with you to decrease your distress and restore wellbeing, so that you can get back to feeling like yourself.

My work in clinical psychology began 16 years ago and has been shaped by a range of experiences in both specialized and high-intensity settings. I have specialized training in serious mental illness, treatment in primary care and emergency assessments. My work in these settings has honed my ability to provide focused, responsive care and deepened my understanding of the range of the human experience.

Recognizing the specific needs of parents, I hold a certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C), which allows me to support individuals through the distinct challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting.

Clinical Training

I completed a doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Mental Health Center, where I focused on serious mental illness. Following this, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Cambridge Health Alliance, specializing in mental health within primary care settings and emergency assessment.

I hold a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute and a master’s degree in mental health and behavioral medicine from Boston University School of Medicine. Additionally, I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International.
